If you have been following me for a while, you know that I am a HUGE fan of Kalencom’s diaper bags! But now that my little one(s) are now toddlers, I have grown to dislike one shoulder diaper bags. I now need a diaper bag that lets me move around just as much as the kiddos do, and that meant being completely hands-free. This is when I started looking for a diaper backpack. And now that I own one, I wonder how I went so long without.
My new Chicago diaper backpack made my life SO much easier! Our errands and activities are more enjoyable because I was able to do everything I needed to do and not have to worry about my bag falling off my shoulder. Now, I have to ask, why aren’t mom’s pushing the need for diaper backpacks more often?! They just make sense. For a momma who wishes she had more hands, I sure don’t want to be holding a diaper bag in one hand and chasing two toddlers around with the other. So, all you beautiful mothers out there…..GET THIS DIAPER BACKPACK! You will thank me later. I am sure of it!
Besides having a stylish backpack that functions well with our hectic life, here are a few other things that are essential to keep in your diaper bag beside the obvious diapers, wipes, changing table, food, and sippy cup.
1.) Disposable diaper bags
These bags will come in handy when you don’t have a trash can near you. I use Munchin Arm & Hammer due to their order-eliminating scent.
2.) Restaurant Ready
Trying to enjoy a nice lunch or dinner with your toddler can be a nightmare if you are not well prepared! Make sure you have everything you need in your backpack to keep this time enjoyable. You need a bib of course. Coloring books and crayons are a must. Take extra snacks in case they don’t like anything on the menu. And anything else that will be a great, quiet distraction.
Whether it’s for teething, sudden fever, or pain, it is always a good idea to keep some handy.
4.) Extra change of clothes and socks.
Have you ever had your little one projectile vomit in the middle of the grocery store? I have and it’s no fun when you don’t have a change of clean clothes for them. One whiff of their clothes and you’ll be wishing you always had an extra set of clothes. Which brings me to number five…
5) Reusable Bag
A reusable bag comes in very handy when your toddler’s clothes are wet/dirty. You can also throw this bag right into your washer along with the dirty clothes.
6) Cover up
For winter, make sure you have a hat, scarf, gloves, and an extra pair of socks.
For summer, you will need a hat and sunscreen.
7) Bug Spray
I can’t tell you how many times I have taken the girls to the park and wished I had bug spray with me. Just do yourself a favor and always be prepared. Babyganics is my favorite brand to use.
8) Hand Sanitizer
I like to hang my sanitizer on the outside of the bag for easy access. I probably have another six floating around the inside. 😉
9) Mini first aid kit.
Toddlers are HIGH energy. They’re always moving and occasionally run into things. It is always smart to keep a mini first aid kit with you. I love this one that I purchased from Safety 1st.
I can not tell you the number of times where I have needed an extra straw, spoon, or fork for my little ones. I finally learned to pack a spare.
My beautiful Kalencom backpack comes in five different colors and patterns! Personally, I think the black is incredibly chic and looks great with any outfit. This diaper bag features 2 side insulated exterior pockets, 1 front pocket with 2 pockets inside it, 1 back exterior pocket, 3 interior pockets, 2 elastic bottle straps, and shoulder straps that convert to a crossbody strap.
