As I read these words I think to myself, “I wish that was me…” My heart aches as I count the many times and areas in my life in which I have failed. At times, I feel clothed in fault and lowliness rather than strength and dignity. What is meant to be a verse of encouragement and persuasion, leaves me feeling discouraged and disheartened. I find that these feelings usually come at the times when I am struggling with self-worth and trusting other things/people to define my identity, rather the One who created me. I feel this is especially hard for mothers, as we tend to put our entire value in the little hands of our children as if it is their responsibility. If the household is at its best, then we must be at our best. Well, at least that’s how we feel. If I am having a frustrating day, the house will reflect my mood, as well as the children.

I was challenged by two of my blogger friends, Ruthie and Chelsea to share 12 things about myself that you may not know. This is just a fun way to get to know each other and introduce you to some new blogger babes like Ruthie and Chelsea.
12 Things You May Not Know About Me:
1. When it comes to fashion, I dislike the color green. I honestly think it’s a color that doesn’t look great on a lot of people.
2. I love rap music. My husband was a professional rapper and my karaoke choice will most likely be something by Kanye.
3. I think my hands look terribly old. I want to start wearing driving gloves to help keep them youthful looking. (I am dead serious!)
4. I have a terrible sweet tooth. When I am not eating sweets, I am thinking about eating sweets.
5. I pray every day that I will be able to adopt a child in the near future. This has been my lifelong dream.
6. If I could pull off blonde hair, I would! I love that my daughter has blonde hair! (Heart-eyes for days!)
7. Though I blog, I am very much a private person.
8. I have always wanted to be a flight attendant.
9. I dream the same dream almost every night. It is very annoying!
10. When I am in deep thought, I play with my hair. It is also a sign that I am holding back on something I want to say.
11. I think I am shrinking! Every time I go to the doctor they tell me I am shorter. Well, I am Asain… 😉
12. I would like to legally change my name to Shell.
There you have it! Did any of these surprise you?

Happy Saturday! A lot of you expressed how much you loved this outfit when I shared it on my Instagram. I also received some questions on how to think outside the box when it comes to putting an outfit together.
Here is your outfit formula to help you put together the most stylish outfit:
1.) Basic piece. 2.) Statement piece. 3.) Completer piece. 4.) Accessories. 5.) Balance.
10 Tips To Mixing Textures:
2.) Keep your fabrics in the same color family.
3.) Pair mixed textures with neutrals for an effortlessly chic look
4.) Better yet, mix neutrals with neutrals.
5.) Use the exact same texture but in a larger or smaller scale.
Example: Choose a delicate lace top with a thicker crochet skirt. Lighter and thick pieces work very well together.
6.) Opt for fabrics that are quite contrasting, but not too different.
7.) Don’t over do it! Keep your mixing to a limit. The more you add on, the more you will look like a Christmas tree.
8.) Break up your textures with a belt or tuck in your shirt. To avoid looking frumpy, I tucked in my crochet top.
9.) Mix your textures by the fit. Notice how my top is not fitted but my skirt is.
10.) And lastly, when in doubt Pinterest it!
Hope these tips help! Thank you for reading! If you have any further questions, leave it in the comment section of this blog and I will be sure to answer!
My Favorite New Beauty Products of April 2017
Lancome Camouflage Concealer & Translucence Powder
I am blown away with the new Lancome’s camouflage concealers and correctors! They aren’t kidding when they say it’s FULL coverage! You literally need a rice grain sized amount of product for both eyes or spots! Also, you can add a little to your foundation if you are in need of extra coverage without jeopardizing the wear, finish, and feel of your foundation. To finish off my look, I use the Translucence Silky Loose Face Powder to set and perfect my concealer and foundation.
Camouflage Concealer Shades: (Additional 17 shades available!)
Orange/Red: minimizes dark spots, dark circles, and acne scars for medium skin tones.
Peach: minimizes dark spots, dark circles, and acne scars for deeper skin tone
Green: neutralizes redness for light to medium skin tones.
Lavender: brightens shallowness for light to medium skin tone
Yellow: brightens and minimizes dark spots, and circles for fair complexions.
OPI Nail Lacquer
Just look at these beautiful spring colors! And with OPI’s new Infinite Shine, your color will last up to 11 days! What are some of your favorite nail polish brands? OPI is definitely in my top 3 of long lasting nail lacquers.
Estee Lauder Modern Muse
Estēe Lauder has always been and will always be one of my favorite brands. And they captured my heart (and nose) again with their new Modern Muse fragrance. Little fun fact: I never liked perfume growing up but now that I’m older, I never leave the house without it.
It’s your turn! Tell me your favorite new beauty products?
