There is something delightfully playful about the pom-pom trend, wouldn’t you agree? From keychains, to clutches, to shoes, to shirts, pom-pom details are the perfect way to add a touch of color and fun. A white on white ensemble screams for that pop of color, and what better way to do than to add all of them? This rainbow pom pom shirt can be found at SheIn. I have noticed that SheIn’s clothes run very large, so be mindful of that when purchasing their off-the-shoulders. I am wearing an xs and it is still a little large for me around the bust area (A-cup). Though, SheIn has always been a favorite of mine and this is my third off-the-shoulder purchase from their site.
How to add pom-pom detail to a top, dress, or skirt.
What you will need:
Plush pom-poms. You can buy a bag of plush pom-poms here on Amazon for under $3.
Select your first pom pom and push the threaded needle through the center of the ball. You should feel a bit of resistance. Push the pom pom along the thread towards the fabric until there’s only a 1/2-inch of thread between the pom pom and the fabric. Then, push the needle in the opposite direction down toward the fabric, and through the center of the pom pom again. Repeat these steps a couple more times to secure the pom-pom and tie your thread into a knot in the inside of your hem. Make sure to avoid threading the pom-poms too tight on the fabric, as this may cause the fabric to pull apart. After you have sewn all of your pom-poms, use your fabric glue to lightly coat the knot for extra security.
Easy does it! Now you have a playful, colorful detail added to your summer pieces! I hope you all have an amazing weekend!
